INGEOMIN

Caracas, August 11, 2026 (Prensa Ingeomin).- With the purpose of delimiting the areas with the greatest mineral potential in the country and guiding the future stages of exploration of the Venezuelan State, a multidisciplinary team from the National Institute of Geology and Mining (INGEOMIN) began a campaign to prospect for strategic minerals in the Orinoco Mining Arc.

During the initial phase of fieldwork and preliminary analysis, the specialists combined topographic and geological maps with multispectral satellite images, as well as magnetic and gravimetric data.

This integration made it possible to delimit anomalous and prospective areas for the location of these minerals.

Subsequently, the geological survey and the collection of samples were carried out at the different points of interest throughout the block. During this work, more than 90 samples were taken including rocks, sediments and heavy concentrates. In the laboratory stage, the collected material will be subjected to advanced processing techniques. For the sediments, Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) and Atomic Absorption will be applied, while the rocks and heavy concentrates will be characterized by X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and thin-section petrography studies.

With this technical deployment, INGEOMIN reaffirms its commitment to cutting-edge scientific research and the generation of key technical information for the development of the sector, following the guidelines of the Ministry of People’s Power for Ecological Mining Development and Basic Industries.
