Caracas, August 10, 2026 (Prensa Ingeomin).- With the purpose of promoting love for geosciences, the National Institute of Geology and Mining (INGEOMIN), attached to the Ministry of People’s Power for Ecological Mining Development and Basic Industries, carried out a special deployment of the educational program “INGEOMIN goes to School”, aimed at providing knowledge to Venezuelan youth and encouraging interest in pursuing careers related to this discipline.
The pedagogical approach was carried out in the transitional camps “Leonardo Infante” and “Mariano Picón Salas”, located in the Petare parish, where a multidisciplinary team provided learning tools to the families affected by the recent seismic event. The basics of Earth Sciences were taught through interactive geology, geography, laboratories, and risk management stations.

The conference combined experimental demonstrations of basic chemistry, exhibition of mineralogical samples, national cartography and didactic dynamics on plate tectonics and seismic behavior in the national territory.
For their part, the technical staff assigned to the prevention area emphasized the importance of providing the child and youth population with theoretical and practical tools that strengthen community resilience to natural events.
These initiatives will continue to be developed in compliance with the State policies promoted by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, and in articulation with the Minister of the Mining Portfolio, Héctor Silva, focused on offering comprehensive, active and territorialized attention in favor of the communities.
