Estudios de Impacto Ambiental

Caracas, October 27, 2026 (Prensa Ingeomin) .- The National Institute of Geology and Mining (INGEOMIN), attached to the Ministry of the People’s Power for Ecological Mining Development and Basic Industries, strengthens the country’s public and environmental management by making available the specialized service of Environmental and Sociocultural Impact Studies (EIASC). This technical tool ensures responsible use of mineral wealth in balance with the protection of ecosystems.

The entire service is part of a rigorous environmental legal framework and the Terms of Reference (TDR) defined by the governing body in this field, the Ministry of People’s Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC). The EIASC is based on Article 129 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which states that any activity that may degrade the environment must be accompanied by this study, and is further based on Decree No. 1.257 on the procedure for environmental assessment, as well as Articles 6 and 8 of the Organic Law on Mines (2026), which enshrine the principles of sustainability, prevention, mediation and land-use planning.

With the support of a multidisciplinary team of geologists, engineers, geographers, geochemicals and environmental specialists, INGEOMIN provides comprehensive advice aimed at identifying, preventing, mitigating and controlling the environmental effects of investment and development projects.

Technical and scientific rigor at the service of the nation

The EIASC service covers all phases of any mining project, ensuring that the interventions are carried out under strict adherence to Venezuelan legal regulations.

The technical capabilities and scope of this service include:

• Environmental characterization: Comprehensive radiography of the physical-natural, biotic and sociocultural environment before any intervention.

• Delimitation and sensitivity: Technical definition of areas
