Caracas, October 22, 2026 (Ingeomin Press Release) –
With a strategic infrastructure of 12 laboratories distributed between Los Teques and Ciudad Bolívar, the National Institute of Geology and Mining (INGEOMIN) offers specialized analysis services for rocks, soils, and sediments in Venezuela.
This operational capacity allows for highly reliable technical results, essential for the exploration and certification of mining and industrial projects throughout the country.
Cutting-edge technology
The precision of the studies conducted by the institute lies in the application of advanced methodologies that guarantee the exact identification of the chemical components of each sample. According to the area manager, Daillyn Betancourt, the specialists employ three spectroscopic techniques:
Atomic absorption: A method for measuring the concentration of specific elements in liquid or dissolved solid samples.
Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy: A technology capable of detecting multiple elements simultaneously. Its extreme sensitivity is ideal for projects requiring the highest level of detail.
X-ray Fluorescence (XRF): A non-destructive analysis that quickly and accurately defines the elemental chemical composition of solid materials.
Standardized Processes
Using X-ray fluorescence spectrometers, technical staff process soil, sediment, and rock samples into compact pellets for digital analysis.
The procedure generates a detailed spectrum with the exact composition of minerals and metals. The analysis capacity reaches 16 samples simultaneously, optimizing turnaround times. Thus, every gram of soil provides accurate data for strategic decision-making.
Comprehensive Services
Beyond mineralogical characterization, INGEOMIN extends its service offerings to water analysis.
This comprehensive study of water resources allows for the scientifically rigorous measurement of elemental concentrations, providing essential data for both the public sector and private initiatives requiring technical validation.
The development of these proprietary methodologies not only strengthens the country’s scientific sovereignty, but also consolidates INGEOMIN as the indispensable technical ally for national geological and mining development.
