NATIONAL REFORESTATION PLAN

The National Reforestation Plan is an initiative of President Nicolás Maduro, implemented by the Ministry of Ecological Mining Development (MIDME) and its affiliated entities, aimed at restoring and revitalizing areas affected by mining activities throughout the country, promoting an economic development that respects and protects the environment. This program, in partnership with the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (Minec) and Maderas del Orinoco, is organized into eight essential phases: from plant production and land study to post-planting care and ongoing research of the areas. Additionally, it directly involves local communities and Mining Brigades, fostering their training and active commitment in the reforestation process.

With the technical and scientific support of the National Institute of Geology and Mining (INGEOMIN), areas are evaluated, soils are prepared, and post-planting care practices are implemented, ensuring the success of ecological recovery.

This comprehensive approach establishes a replicable model for future reforestation actions with the conscious use of natural resources. The national campaign focuses on creating a new model in mining, where sustainable development and environmental protection are fundamental priorities, consolidating a vision of sustainability and social responsibility in the management of our territory's resources.
