NATIONAL GEOLOGY PLAN (NGP)

The National Geology Plan (PNG) is a project created to provide geoscientific information and the necessary documents for the process of quantifying and certifying the mineral resources and reserves present in Venezuela, thereby achieving the expansion of the investment opportunity portfolio in the mining sector.

PROJECT MANAGERS

At a strategic level, the Ministry of Ecological Mining Development (MIDME) and the Vice Ministry of Exploration and Ecological Mining Investment are the entities responsible for complying with the policies to sovereignly strengthen national capabilities for the prospecting and exploration of our mineral resources, as contained in the Law of the Plan of the Homeland 2019-2025 and in the Sectorial Mining Plan 2019-2025.

At an operational level, the National Institute of Geology and Mining (INGEOMIN), the Venezuelan Mining Corporation (CVM), mixed companies, private mining operators, and universities and higher education institutes in the country are in charge.

 

THE NATIONAL GEOLOGY PLAN IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR PHASES

FIRST PHASE

    Adequacy of the equipment and laboratories needed for geological mining prospecting and exploration activities.

SECOND PHASE

    Develop and execute field campaigns where geological information on minerals of interest is collected.

THIRD PHASE

    Run the resource and reserve calculations for the opportunities portfolio.

FOURTH PHASE

    Provide the necessary data for the certification of resources and reserves for the business portfolio of the Venezuelan State.
